Studio portrait of (left) 230 Driver (Dvr) Ivo Elmore Ferrier and Alex Henderson. Dvr Ferrier, a grazier from Warragul, Vic prior to enlistment, embarked with the 29th Battalion from Melbourne on 10 November 1915 on HMAT Ascanius. After initially transferring to the 8th Machine Gun Battalion, he was later transferred to the 5th Machine Gun Battalion and, on 22 March 1918, he was killed in action aged 24. He was buried in the Kandahar Farm Cemetery, Belgium.
