Studio portrait of 294 Private (Pte) George Walter Hull. Originally from Dunach, Victoria, while in Queensland Hull enlisted with the Third Contingent, Queensland Mounted Infantry, which sailed from Brisbane for Cape Town on 1 March 1900. After taking part in several battles, including Mafeking, Pte Hull died of enteric fever in Pretoria on 6 January 1901. He is commemorated on memorials in Brisbane and Ballarat.
