It's an unusual task for Warrant Officer Max Steiger as he teaches two Vietnamese medics the basics of medical vocabulary, in English. WO1 Steiger is the Australian Army Training Team (AATTV) adviser based in the city of Hue, in far north of South Vietnam. His normal duties include advising on hospital hygiene and ward layouts at the Army of the Republic of Vietnam Military Hospital, instructing rookie Army medics in basic first aid, and acting as administrator for the AATTV advisors working out of Hue. His self imposed language classes, he has three doctor students in his first term, consists of three two hour afternoon sessions a week and two morning lessons also.
