Fuel access hatch from a Japanese aircraft: Brigadier Thomas Eastick, Commander, Kuching Force
Description
A roughly circular plain aluminium access panel from an unidentified Japanese aircraft. Stencilled in black along the length of the panel are the Japanese characters "nenryo haishutsu guchi", which literally translates as "fuel exit vent" and probably relates to the draining of the fuel tanks. There is a black registration mark painted above the characters. The underside is fitted with a ball or pintle fitting at one end and a lock catch at the other.
History / Summary
Not known. The hatch is from the donor's collection of Japanese material and has no known provenance.
