Lister, Ronald Walker (Lieutenant)
Papers of Lieutenant VX7502 Ronald Walter Lister who served with the 2/1 Australian Ordnance Stores Company during the Second World War. The collection comprises a diary, service records, articles on the Australian Red Cross Society and reprints of a number of magazines, including 'The Quill'. Lister's diary was written while a prisoner of war held at Oflag 7B in Bavaria, 1942-1945. It contains annotated photographs of soldiers with the Gaza Ridge Ordnance Camp, in March 1940, annotated maps of campaigns in Greece 1941, and the mountain passes of Braillos and Thermopyli, leave passes, postcards, menus, poetry, concert programs and sketches of Greece and Oflag 7B. Other items of note include a hand bound copy of Rudyard Kipling's 'Kim'. Lister bound the volume which was held at the camp library. The leather was supplied by the Red Cross and the vellum saved from drum held at Warburg Camp, 1943.
