Description
A scene behind the Australian lines at Hill 63, in Belgium, where the Catacombs were located. These consisted of a system of tunnels of considerable length, fitted to accommodate over 1,000 men. Troops of the 2nd Division were in the area during this time. The soldiers photographed were unidentified. Note the signs attached to the tree including 'Salvage Dump'.
