She talked... this happened
Description
During the Second World War, a fear of information falling into the wrong hands was felt by the warring countries. To remind the civilians and military personnel to keep all information from being overheard by spies, countries including Great Britain and Australia launched poster initiatives that spelled out the consequences of sharing state secrets. In a similar vein to the "Careless talk costs lives" design, this photolithograph design presents two women chatting in a cafe while a man at the table behind them listenes in; in the frame below them, an allied ship is sinking because the enemy knew where and how to attack it.
