Australian Militia : Join
Australian Militia recruitment poster from the inter-war period printed by H.J. Green Government Printer for the State of Victoria. It features two images positioned lower left and upper right. Both are of a militia recruit in full uniform standing in front of fellow recruits marching at an annual militia training camp. He is indicating with his right hand that the viewer should join up with the troops behind him. The title text is printed in red and positioned top and bottom. There are two blocks of text framed within black borders in the upper left and lower right balancing the images. They inform the viewer which areas of the army they can apply to join and the physical requirements, pay and allowances, promotion possibilities and length of service. Interested eligibles are asked to apply at the nearest Drill Hall.
