Description
Studio portrait of either: 771 Private (Pte) Neil Robison Lamborn; or 1130 Pte Bruce Lamborn (brothers), both of the 23rd Battalion, of Auburn, Vic. Pte Neil Lamborn enlisted on 2 March 1915 embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Euripides on 8 May 1915. He returned to Australia on 9 March 1919. Pte Bruce Lamborn, who later served as a corporal, enlisted on 5 March 1915 and was killed in action on 5 September 1917, near Dickebusch, Belgium. Their final unit was listed on the First World War Nominal as the 2nd Australian Medium Trench Mortar Battery.
