Description
Studio portrait of 402 Sapper (Spr) Bernard Samuel Starkey of Ivanhoe, Vic (originally of Walsall, England). Spr Starkey enlisted on 28 January 1915 and was killed in action on 7 August 1915, at Lone Pine, Gallipoli Peninsula, while serving with the 2nd Field Company Engineers.
