Description
Studio portrait of 1632 Private (Pte) Harry Chandler, 1st Reinforcements, 28th Battalion, of Subiaco, WA. Pte Harry Chandler enlisted on 1 March 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Geelong in Fremantle on 5 June 1915. On 16 September 1917 he was promoted to corporal. He was wounded in action at Ploegsteert, Belgium on 12 March 1918 and died later that same day. Note he is holding two signal flags and he is wearing the badge which denotes that he is a qualified signaller. See also DA08802A.
