NX119119 Private (Pte) Frank Morris Wells, 2/48 Infantry Battalion, from Milsons Point, NSW, walking down a street with an unidentified member of the Australian Women's Army (AWAS) while on leave from New Guinea. Pte Morris enlisted on 18 August 1942; he was killed in action on the island of Tarakan, Borneo, on 24 May 1945 and is buried in Labuan War Cemetery, Malaysia.
