Description
British Second World War Recruitment poster for the ATS. The ATS, or Auxiliary Territorial Service, was the women's branch of the British Army during the Second World War, with numbers reaching 65,000 in September 1941. The poster features the black and white photographic image in the foreground of a woman dressed in full ATS uniform marching proudly. In the background are stylised graphic rows of British Army soldiers marching carrying their guns in their right hands. Both are set against a red background with the title text in the top third against a blue background.
