Description

A Supermarine Walrus aircraft being winched on board HMAS Australia by the ship's crane. The catapult has been swung out so the aircraft can be loaded into its cradle (not visible). The Walrus was an amphibian aircraft, illustrated by the extended landing wheels, which may indicate that this aircraft may not have just landed on the water but is being loaded from a barge or lighter.
