Description

Guthrie speaks of his service background and experience, as well as training; his posting as a warrant officer in No 77 Fighter Squadron RAAF and its operational role in Korea; the circumstances of his capture; his treatment as a prisoner of war (POW); his attempted escape; the march to the prison camps along the Manchurian border where he was interned; his release after two years as a prisoner of the Chinese Army. While a POW Guthrie was promoted to the rank of Flying Officer.
