Portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) John Abbott Longworth, 34th Battalion, of Taree, NSW. Lt Longworth enlisted at Taree on 24 March 1916 and embarked from Sydney, NSW, aboard HMAT Beltana (A72) on 25 November 1916. He was killed in action at Passchendaele on 12 October 1917 aged 22.
