The Roll of Honour board in the town of Orroroo, South Australia, listing the names of men from the surrounding district who volunteered to serve abroad during the First World War. At least nine of those listed died on active service: 213 Quartermaster Sergeant Elias Judell (died 9 August 1915); 1316 Private (Pte) Howard George Dodd (2 May 1915); 615 Pte Jack Exelby Kohring (died 5 November 1916); 1187 Pte Percival Arnold Lowther (died 2 May 1915); 814 Pte Horace Vincent Phillis (died 29 June 1915); 2343 Sapper G A Butterick (died 23 July 1916); 3494A Pte Bert Bruce Weston (died 21 September 1916); 3026 Pte Joshua John Ball (died 14 April 1918). The incomplete date on the right hand side indicates that the image was taken before the end of the war.
