Description
The original grave marker, erected by his friends inscribed "in memory of our comrade" covered in flowers, of 359 Trooper (Tpr) Reginald Darcy Peck, 2nd Field Squadron Royal Australian Engineers, of Gulgong, NSW. Tpr Peck enlisted on 8 January 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Suevic on 13 June 1917. He died of pneumonia and malaria in Egypt on 22 October 1918 aged 28 years. The cross also has the words "The fight is over. The battle is won."
