Description

The original grave marker, covered in flowers, of 1116 Trooper (Tpr) Alfred Blake Bremner MM, 10th Australian Light Horse, of Perth, WA. Tpr Bremner enlisted on 10 May 1915 and embarked from Fremantle aboard HMAT Kanowna on 30 June 1915. Tpr Bremner was posthumously awarded the Military Medal for his conspicuous gallantry on 3 May 1918 on the Amman Road, in leading a group of men to rush forward throwing bombs as they ran, destroying Turkish gun placements which resulted in the capture of 314 Turkish and German soldiers. He died of wounds received in this attack in Egypt on 3 June 1918 aged 22 years.
