Description

The original grave marker, covered in flowers, of 565 Trooper (Tpr) Ernest William Millard, 11th Australian Light Horse, of Auburn, SA. Tpr Millard enlisted on 27 November 1914 and embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Medic on 2 June 1915. He was wounded in action in Palestine and died of these wounds in Egypt on 15 May 1918 aged 25 years. His elder brother 3546 Private Walter Edmund Millard, 10th Battalion, was killed in action on 20 August 1916.
