Description
The original grave marker, covered in flowers, of 982 Private (Pte) William George Howard, Australian Remount Unit, of Boorandara, Vic. Pte Howard enlisted on 10 October 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Orsova on 12 November 1915. He died of a cerebral haemorrhage after a six month hospital illness in Egypt on 27 March 1918 aged 53 years.
