The original grave marker, covered in flowers, of 785 Trooper (Tpr) John Richard Prentice, 11th Australian Light Horse, of Rocklea, Qld. Tpr Prentice enlisted on 2 January 1915 and embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Medic on 2 June 1915. He died of dysentery in Egypt on 1 October 1915 aged 20 years.
