Description
The marble cross and headstone of 156 Trooper (Tpr) Roy Vernon Jenkin, 15th Battalion, of Charters Towers, Qld. Tpr Jenkin originally served with the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force and was discharged on 17 September 1914. He then enlisted on the same day and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 22 December 1914. He died of sunstroke in Egypt on 30 January 1915 aged 20 years.
