An informal portrait of a 15 year old Belgian boy, adopted by the Australians in France, feeding hay to a horse. The boy was an orphan from Dixmude, Belgium, where both his parents were killed during earlier fighting. When the Australians moved out the Royal Fusiliers took care of him.
