Description

A large group of unidentified Australian troops resting near the famous moat and ramparts of the town. The following day marked the entry of Australian troops into the Third Battle of Ypres, with the 1st and 2nd Australian Divisions taking part in operations. Note in the background the dugouts built into the ramparts (centre) and several shell damaged buildings.
