Wings over the Waves
Description
British Second World War poster published by the Ministry of Aircraft Production. The poster is aimed at promoting the importance of aircraft in the Navy and includes several flights of aircraft in the midground with the silhouette of an aircraft carrier in the background. The lower centre of the poster features a quote from (then) Vice Admiral Boyd (later Admiral Sir Denis Boyd), highlighting the importance of aircraft to the navy. The silhouettes appear to be largely comprised of Fairey Swordfish and sea Hurricanes.
