Description

Major Wait (left) and Corporal Faux (right), both wearing protective clothing, fogging 32 Barrack, Monitoring Team-Arawa with insectidal spray. The two men are from the Australian Army and are members of the Combined Health Element (CHE) of the Peace Monitoring Group (PMG) taking part in Operation Bel Isi II. The Arawa based montitoring team included two patrols, numbers 31 and 32, who regularly visited outlying villages to monitor the peace agreement between the Papua New Guinea government and the Bougainville independence movement. This raised bungalow was used as accommodation by 32 Patrol.
