British Second World War poster outlining domestic tasks girls may do to help the war effort. These include: making slippers out of felt hats, care and maintenance of sewing machines, buttonhole making, washing and ironing tips, mending lace or net curtains, refixing a loose knife handle, maintaining a sponge etc. Each task is presented as a square of text with a sub heading in black and white lettering and an accompanying image. The title of the poster is printed in the top left hand corner as white print on a red square. With many men and women in the services, domestic tasks were left to those left behind. 'Total War' demanded that all citizens become accountable to the war effort while domestic tasks gained greater significance in wartime.
