Description
Studio portrait of 861 Sergeant (Sgt) William Emlyn Hardwick, 21st Battalion, of Leongatha, Vic. Sgt Hardwick enlisted on 7 January 1915, and served as a Second Lieutenant. On 26 April 1917 he was awarded a Military Cross (MC). He was killed in action on 5 October 1918 at Tincourt in France. On 2 December 1918 he was awarded a posthumous Bar to his MC.
