Description
Studio portrait probably of 506 Private (Pte) Thomas Herbert Bentley, 23rd Battalion, of Melbourne (originally Belfast, Ireland). Pte Bentley enlisted on 25 February 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Euripides on 10 May 1915. He later served as a Sergeant with the 23rd Battalion. On 19 June 1916 he died of wounds at Armentieres, France.
