Description
Studio portrait of 45 Private (Pte) William Maher, 21st Battalion, of Fitzroy, Vic. Pte Maher enlisted on 28 January 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Ulysses on 10 May 1915. On 4 December 1915 he died of wounds at Shrapnel Valley on the Gallipoli Peninsula.
