Description
Studio portrait of 2247 Private (Pte) Herbert Leslie Pearce, 10th Battalion, of Karinga, SA. Pte Pearce enlisted on 25 January 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Borda on 23 June 1915. On 23 August 1916 he was wounded in France while serving with the 50th Battalion. In October 1916 he joined the 1st Divisional Signal Company. On 13 May 1918 he was wounded a second time. He returned to Australia on 9 July 1919.
