Hazel, Tody (Private, b.1925 - d.1953)
Description
Collection relating to the Korean War service of 11748 Private Tody Hazel, 6 Section, 8 Platoon, C Company, 3 Royal Australian Regiment. The collection consists of a two page letter, written by Pte Hazel to his parents while on active service in Korea. It is dated '12 June' (no year given), and written from three miles behind the lines. In the letter he tells of his imminent deployment in the fighting line and expresses his fears about going into action for the first time. Pte Hazel was killed in action on 25 June 1953.
