Studio portrait of 683 Private James O'Connell, 24th Battalion, of Melbourne, Vic, (originally of Pathmore, County Kerry, Ireland). Pte O'Connell enlisted on 23 April 1915 and was killed in action on 5 August 1916 at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
