Description
Studio portrait of 459 Private (Pte) John Raymond Newton, 21st Battalion, of Stawell, Vic. Pte Newton enlisted on 25 March 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Ulysses on 8 May 1915. On 26 August 1916 he was killed in action at Monquet Farm, France.
