Description
Studio portrait of two soldiers dressed in militia uniforms of the 15th Light Horse Regiment as indicated by the white puggaree on their hats and the gorgets on their collars. One man is identified as 3847 Private (Pte) Thomas Neill, 12th Reinforcements, 7th Battalion, of Burnley, Vic. Pte Thomas enlisted on 6 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ceramic on 23 November 1915. He was killed in action on 19 July 1916 in Fromelles, France, while a member of the 60th Battalion.
