Description
A line of four British Mark IV tanks at a maintenance depot in Palestine in various stages of repair. There are many items of equipment, tools and fittings visible in the foreground. The first vehicle (left) is a gun armed Male which has had the tracks removed. It is shrouded with a canvas tarpaulan and a mobile gantry has been fitted overhead. The second vehicle, named REVENGE is a machine gun armed Female and the fuel tanks appear to have been removed which are visible (left foreground). The third vehicle is a Male which has had the tracks and drive sprockets removed (visible in the foreground). The fourth vehicle (right) is a Male and appears to be complete. Note the palm trees and tent in the background.
