View of the German vessel Panzerschiffe Admiral Graf Spee showing shell damage after an attack. The Admiral Graf Spee was used to harass Allied merchant shipping. It was scuttled by her captain Hans Longsdorf after being unable to complete repairs within the timeframe allowed by the Uruguayan government after the Battle of the River Plate off the Montevideo coast.
