Don't Waste Oil - Not a Drop - Not a Splash
Description
British Second World War poster highlighting the importance of saving oil. The poster is one of a series produced by Henry Bateman that comprise a central character wasting some for of essential goods and those around them looking at them in a scornful way. In this instance the central character, apparently a mechanical worker as indicated by his leather overalls, is standing in a pool of oil that is dripping from his saturated clothes and limbs. He stands in between two large, separated groups of people who are staring at him with clenched fists and angry expressions.
