You can't slope arms with a lathe!
Description
This Australian Second World War poster was produced by General Motors Holden (GMH) in 1941, and was produced for use in one of their factories.
The poster depicts a munitions worker carrying a lathe in the upper right of the poster and discusses the importance of the munitions worker for soldiers on the front line. The poster's frequent use of the words "your" and "you" helps to target the poster directly at the munitions worker reading to posters, emphasising the importance of their direct contribution.
This poster's use of the word 'slope' comes from the old British use of the word, meaning to move in a slow, idle or aimless manner.
