Instead of these we are making these
This Australian Second World War poster was produced by Department of War Organsiation of Industry, advising that instead of making furniture for domestic use the resources are channeled into aircraft production. The poster depicts the household furniture that ordinarily would have been produced by manufacturing plants in the top section of the poster. Below the furniture imagery is an image of a 5 of RAAF Bristol Beaufort Mk.1s (albeit missing the front, lower radio aerial) flying in formation over water before a setting sun. Below the image of the Beauforts is the text relating the Department of War Organisation of Industry to their campaign for increased war production output. This poster is aimed to create a sense of uniformity between those in Australia in manufacturing plants, and how their efforts were helping Australia's war effort.
