Luba Fletcher will speak here...
This British Second World War poster was a generic poster produced by the Minsitry of Information to be distributed to different locations where Fletcher was speaking.
Luba Fletcher was a Russian-born lecturer specialising in Soviet politics. She moved to the UK shortly after the Revolution. She also spent considerable time living in Germany through the Weimar period and during the rise of Nazism. She was also known for being widely travelled, including having taken journies to Australia and New Zealand. These were all topics that she was known to discuss during her lectures.
During the Second World War, the Ministry of Information employed people such as Fletcher to give talks about other countries, cultures, and general war matters. This poster would have been distributed to the venues that she presented in ahead of time and they would have filled in the relevant details to advertise the talks. The poster also includes a short biography.
