Description
Studio portrait of 1521A Private (Pte) Edward William Cunningham, 1st Reinforcements, 24th Battalion, of Wonthaggi, Vic. Pte Cunningham enlisted on 9 April 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Ceramic on 25 June 1915. He died of wounds received on 6 October 1918 at Tincourt in France. Pte Cunningham had three brothers who also served overseas, one was killed at Gallipoli, one was killed in France and the other brother returned to Australia.
