Description
This 1942 British Second World War poster was created by His Majesty's Stationary Office on behalf of the Ministry of Information with artwork by Frank Wootton. The poster depicts a flight of Supermarine Spitfires in pursuit of Heinkel HE111s. The Heinkel closest to the foreground has its portside engine on fire, with smoke billowing out behind it.
The poster was likely produced to show the general public the sort of work that was done by Allied navies, with the phrase 'back them up' referring to continuing the fight and efforts on the home front.
This was one of a series of posters all with the same title. This item has been digitised with funding provided by Commonwealth Government.
