Enjoying a few hours ashore, Corporal (Cpl) Gordon W Linklater of Tully, Qld exchanges his cap for a traditional fez from one of the local traders. Identified left to right: unidentified trader; Cpl Gordon Lee, Sydney, NSW (wearing fez); Cpl Linklater; unidentified trader; Leading Aircraftman Fred Rigby, Wentworth Falls, NSW (wearing a fez). The men, who were members of 78 Fighter Wing RAAF, were on their way to garrison duty in Malta.
