Description
This text-only British Second World War poster quotes a speech given by British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill to the House of Commons on 4 June 1940. This speech was the second of three that Churchill gave during the Battle of France. The section of the speech quoted in this poster is the most well-known section, wherein Churchill discusses the means with which every Briton will fight to the bitter end, and should part of the country become 'subjugated and starving', then the vast British Empire would come to their aid.
This poster would have been displayed to remind Britons, or indeed other members of the British Empire of the unity and resign that the people of Britain had to defeat the Axis powers.
