Frazer, David Henry (Private, b.1913 - d.1994)
A collection of 181 letters written by VX41179 Private David Henry Frazer (later Sergeant) to his family during a sustained period of Second World War active service with 2/24 Battalion in North Africa, Palestine, Syria, New Guinea and Borneo, and some time in Australia for early training and eventual demobilization. The letters reveal the writer's Christian spirituality founded on his commitment to the Catholic faith and also provide an intimate perspective of the life of the battalion throughout the war. Also included in the collection is typescript thesis (dated October 2001) titled, 'The Second World War Letters to his Home from David Henry Frazer VX41179: Spirituality on the Battlefield', by Sgt Frazer's daughter, Christina Westmore-Peyton.
