Description
Studio portrait of 6567 Private (Pte) Leonard Parkes Holroyd, 36th Battalion, AIF. Pte Holroyd a plumber by trade, enlisted on 20 November 1916 and embarked on HMAT Wiltshire on 7 February 1917 from Sydney with 19th Reinforcements, 19th Infantry Battalion. Pte Holroyd was killed in action on 12 October 1917, aged 29 and is commemorated on The Ypres (Mein Gate) Memorial in Belgium.
