Portrait of 4303 Private (Pte) George William (Jo-Jo) Stockham, 13th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Fullerton, SA, aged 37. A shopkeeper, Pte Stockham enlisted on 14 September 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. He was killed in action on 10 May 1917 at Villers-Bretonneux, France. His brother, Lieutenant (698) Sydney Clezy Stockham, C Company, 27th Battalion, also of Fullarton, died of wounds on 18 August 1918, in France.
