Description

Flight Lieutenant Tony Glowacki DFC, DFM, Virtuti Militari, Polish Cross of Valour and two bars, Polish Legion of Honour (left), reunited with his compatriot Flight Lieutenant Tom Markowski, Virtuti Militari and Polish Cross of Valour, a member of 78 Fighter Wing RAAF. Both men transferred to the RAF after the fall of Poland in 1939 and had not met since Markowski left England in 1946. Flight Lieutenant Glowacki, who had been a fighter pilot for 22 years, was an instructor at the RAF Gunnery School in Nicosia, Cyprus where the Wing went for training.
